A 4-alarm fire ripped through a 2 1/2 story wood yesterday afternoon at 87 Asticou Rd., in District 9. The 2nd alarm was struck on arrival by the officer of Tower Ladder 10.
Here is a picture taken from an ambulance company that happened to be in the neighborhood prior to the arrival of Engine 28 and Tower Ladder 10. In addition we've posted a You Tube video below. In the video watch the Chauffeur of L16, with apparatus placement, ventilation, etc. Excellent job!
The cause was careless disposal of a cigarette on a sofa placed on the exterior porch.
